One thing to remember while buying a new car is that the first two to three years of its ownership witnesses the highest depreciation rates after which the depreciation subsides. A car generally depreciates at a rate of 15-20 percent per year for the first three years.So no matter if you buy a car worth Rs. 50, 00,000. A few months later it would not be worth as much as it was at the time of purchase. Maybe this is not true for all car models, universally, but such is the case for most car models which suffer a significant decrease in its worth. But some car models manage to retain its worth for a long time thereby having a slow rate of depreciation.

The car topping the list would be a Landrover Range Rover that is a surprise package in itself. You are always looking for amazing options of for resale if necessary which depreciate slow. But such is not the case for Range Rover which leaves you awestruck because of the fact that it appreciates over a year by 3.3 percent. The Range Rover is available with two supercharged engines, a V6 motor that makes 340-hp or a V8 unit that makes 510, both of which are luxury cars.
The next in the list would be Subaru Impreza. Owners would be losing a 3 percent a year with this car which is appreciably lower than most cars of the market.
The car ranking third in this list would be Toyota Tacoma. The compact pickup is available with a four or six-cylinder engine. The car loses a 6.9 percent a year of its value.
The Jeep Wrangler is considered to be the king of resale since it depreciates a very low 7.1 percent of its worth in a year. Jeep comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 285 hp.
Nissan Frontier, the very first rugged pick up truck ranks 5 in the list. It depreciates a 7.9 percent of its value with every passing year and thus offers a handsome resale value when sold after few years of use.
The sixth name on the list would be Mercedes G class that depreciates an 8 percent a year.
The Scion xB depreciates 8.2 percent a year and ranks 7th on the list.
An affordable Sedan Nissan Versa ranks eighth and depreciates an 8.7 percent every year from its ownership.
The ninth on the list would be Toyota FJ Cruiser also depreciating an 8.7 percent every year.
The last on the list would be Honda CR-V which even though depreciates a 9 percent is still among the slowest depreciating cars.
