Polo, the hatchback by Volkswagen has become very popular in India. Now the company has launched a special edition of this car- Volkswagen Polo GTI. With a lot of increased styling and improved range of features this car has both the petrol and diesel variants. The GTI badges can be noticed on the scuff plates, aluminum pedals and B-pillars. The Volkswagen polo comes with a lot of stylish upgrades to its exterior which renders an enhanced sporty look than its existing make model.
Since the GTI is a special model, there have been no mechanical changes under the hood. Similar to the existing model the new GTI also has the 1.5 litre TDI diesel and 1.2 litre MPI petrol engine. The diesel variant generates a power of 90 Ps and a torque of 230Nm. The petrol version generates much less power, 75 Ps and a torque of 110Nm. A 5-speed manual gear box takes care of the transmission for both the variants of the new GTI.

A few upgrades have been made to the interior of the Volkswagen Polo GTI. The aluminum pedals and the scuff plates have the GTI badge, the upholstery of the seat is new and has been given a contrasting black and grey stripe, the centre armrest at the two AC vents- the front and the rear. The cabin looks smart as in any other car of the same class. The 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system which has Mirrorlink connectivity and flat bottomed steering wheel is there to enhance the style. Exterior modifications include the new fog lamps, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels which have been newly designed, and the GTI badged fender, sill plates and the B-pillars, power foldable ORVM with turn indicators, dual beam headlights for sporty styling .The car comes in a range of colors which include Flash red, blue silk, Reflex silver, Toffee brown, carbon steel and Candy white.
Maruti is a brand which is synonymous with trust. This trust factor and their service has made Maruti Suzuki India’s largest passenger car maker. To maintain that same legacy the company is going to launch a model that is going to be more powerful and more mechanically advanced in the hatchback category – Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. With this model Maruti Suzuki is going to introduce its boosterjet engines in India. Boosterjet is a kind of petrol engine that is turbo charged. The car was introduced as a concept in the auto expo 2016 held in February.
The Baleno RS will be equipped with 1.0 litre boosterjet engines which will produce 110bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. Probably, it will be coupled with a five speed manual. The numbers are quite conspicuous of an improved performance when compared to the existing version. Existing petrol versions of the Baleno are powered by the 1.2-litre, K-Series VVT engine which generate a power of 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency of the car has been officially declared by Maruti at 21.4kmpl.
The Baleno RS is a version, which is stylish and sporty. The dimensions and the design have not undergone any major change. But the final styling of the car is different. There is a black front grille and matt black alloy wheels. The front and the rear bumper have grown in size and a front and a very well coupled rear spoiler has also been provided. The size of the wheel is large with a smaller tyre profile. The new Baleno RS model will see a stiff competition with the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI as its arch rival.
